The next meeting of Safety in Stumblers is on Monday 6 September 2010 between 7.30-9.00pm.......

The next meeting of Safety in Stumblers will take place on Monday 6 September 2010,  between 7.30-9.00pm , in the Library of Waxy O'Connors Bar, 44 West George Street, Glasgow, just next to Queen Street station. Please see the following website for directions:

This is the first meeting following our traditional Summer break and there will be the usual check-in followed by a chat about BSA Scotland's 5th Walk-n-talk weekend that will take place on the weekend of 10-12 September 2010. This year we are going to Invergarry Lodge which is between Fort William and Fort Augustus.

We are also to be joined by a couple of guests on the night. Firstly we are delighted to announce that Sandra White MSP will be present as she is interested in doing what she can to raise the profile of stammering..  She would like to meet some people who go to the self help groups in Glasgow and Edinburgh in order to get as wide a perspective as possible on stammering. Sandra has also said that she would write a parliamentary motion on stammering and try to get a members debate in the Scottish Parliament to raise the profile.

Secondly, Frank Geoghegan-Quinn who is a Self Management Programme Project Worker with British Stammering Association Scotland will be attending on the night to chat about his post. In effect BSA has received funding from the Long Term Conditions Alliance Scotland to deliver a self management programme which will involve offering help, advice and support to new and existing self help groups for people in Scotland who stammer.

It should be a good night and I look forward to seeing you there.

Regards

John
